Makayla, known to her students as Signorina Michela, is an Italian American educator, passionate about making Italian fun and accessible for kids and adults. Like many, she grew up with a love for her heritage but without the language being passed down. This experience fuels her empathetic and encouraging teaching style.

Her journey to fluency began in high school through dedicated tutoring and consistent practice. She earned the New York State Seal of Biliteracy in Italian, becoming the first in her school to do so. She continues her studies in Italian at Nazareth University, where she has been recognized by the Gamma Kappa Alpha Italian Honor Society for her academic work.

With nearly five years of teaching experience and a background in running engaging Italian programs for children, Signorina Michela knows that language learning doesn’t have to be intimidating. At Italian Made Easy, she helps students learn with structure, support, and joy, making every lesson achievable, meaningful, and always facile.
